Eni S.p.A. engages in the exploration, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas through multiple business segments.

• Exploration & Production:
  Focuses on the research, development, and production of oil, condensates, and natural gas. Also involved in forestry conservation and CO₂ capture and storage initiatives.

• Global Gas & LNG Portfolio:
  Handles the supply and wholesale of natural gas via pipelines and international transport, as well as the purchase and marketing of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

• Refining & Marketing and Chemicals:
  Responsible for refining, distribution, and marketing of fuels, lubricants, and chemical products.

• Plenitude and Power (formerly Eni gas e luce, Power & Renewables):
  Covers retail gas and electricity sales, as well as electricity generation from thermoelectric and renewable sources.

• Corporate and Other Activities:
  Includes corporate services and other non-core operations.

As of 2023, Eni produced 0.8 million barrels of liquids and 4.6 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, with total reserves of 6.4 billion barrels of oil equivalent (48% liquids).

The Italian government owns a 30.1% stake in the company.
